Workshops woven from self-care, self-knowledge, self-defense and rituals that call for justice and the joy of women.

The work is divided into two parts: virtual workshops that dealt with collective creation, narratives, life stories, and community art and culminated in the creation of a mural in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz.

This is a project Yuyi requested to the women of the collective Latin American Feminist Network: Community Spaces of Self-care https://www.facebook.com/Red-Latinoamericana-Feminista-Espacios-Comunitarios-de-Autocuidado-172941820207780/

Yuyi contacted the collective, proposed painting a community mural, and provided more than $5,000 of financial support for the collective to create and give six online workshops, free of cost to its participants. Yuyi’s financial support paid for the workshops as well as transportation and hospitality for its instructors.

These workshops taught their participants feminist and community methodologies in artistic work for community awareness. The topics ranged from self-knowledge and community art, linguistic landscapes and rituals between women, self-care, defending our territory, limits and community defense among women, community conflict resolution, and the process of creating together.

Yuyi also financed the purchase of materials and resources for the painting of the mural and after participating in the workshops, helped paint the mural.
