Yuyi participated in the Highlights Foundation’s Essential Conversations seminar in the fall of 2020, Dismantling the Kaleidoscope, where she developed the concept of the Anti-bias Book Bearer. An Anti-bias Book Bearer is a reader who actively questions their own beliefs and assumptions in the service of being a reader who is aware of and celebrates “the experiences and journeys of vulnerable and marginalized communities as an abundance of wisdom and resources.” The Highlights Foundation decided to promote Yuyi’s video about this concept on their website: https://www.highlightsfoundation.org/book-bearer/
