In 2019, the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature in Abeline, Texas, presented the first ever solo exhibit of Yuyi’s work, Soñadora. This exhibit consists of over 50 original pieces of Yuyi’s art and traces her development and accomplishments as an award-winning illustrator. Among the pieces displayed are drawings from Yuyi’s adolescence, sketches from early manuscripts, and paintings from books like Harvesting Hope, Just a Minute, Little Night, Sand Sister, and Ladder to the Moon. This exhibit will travel throughout various museums across the United States over the next couple years.
