The story goes that this brave but gentle knight was born one night when Maxwell—big arms, big legs, big body big head, slow brain—placed the fragile and crooked body of smart Freak on is shoulders. Together Freak and Maxwell became one. They became Freak the Mighty. As Maxwell tells us in his own words, he got a brilliant mind when he carried Freak over his shoulders. Crossing bridges, reaching new lands, hunting treasures, Maxwell set into the quest of learning who he was beyond his huge, clumsy, and scary body.
